Jewelry Care

Care Instructions
  • Store your earrings in a clean, dry place when not in use. For best results, use a jewelry box or a PVC pouch with the provided silica gel to help prevent scratches or damage.
  • Keep your polymer clay earrings away from harsh chemicals, including perfumes, alcohol, lotions, hairsprays, and cleaning products. These substances may damage the clay and its finish.
  • To clean your earrings, gently wipe them with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or dust. For makeup stains, use nail polish remover.
  • Although polymer clay is flexible, avoid bending or twisting your earrings excessively, as this can weaken or break the clay over time.
  • Protect your earrings from sharp objects to prevent permanent marks or scratches on the clay surface.
Metal Findings
Our metal hardware is labeled hypoallergenic, meaning it is unlikely to cause allergic reactions. Hypoallergenic jewelry is typically made from pure metals such as platinum, gold, titanium, copper, stainless steel, fine silver, and sterling silver. However, even these metals may tarnish over time when exposed to moisture.

Tarnishing is a chemical reaction known as oxidation. When metal reacts with sulfur in the air, it darkens. Humidity, sweat, salty air, sulfur, hairspray, makeup, and household chemicals can contribute to tarnishing. While you can clean tarnished jewelry, repeated cleaning may gradually wear away gold plating and reveal the underlying metal.

To treat tarnished metals, polish them with a jewelry cloth or use a cleaning mixture of white vinegar, baking soda, and a small amount of lemon juice. Gently wipe the metal parts with a cotton swab or ball, then dry thoroughly with a cloth.
